Ooooo! Good book alert!

I had one of those pick-up-a-book-read-the-first-sentence-and-suddenly-realize-that-you've-read-an-entire-chapter moments. 

It's The Giant's House, by Elizabeth McCracken and I love it. 

I LOVE the narrator--spinster-librarian Peggy Cort.  She starts:

I do not love mankind.

More on it after I've actually had a chance to finish it.
