Mid-year fave books list.

Okay.  So far, my favorite books this year (not necessarily published this year) have been:

So Yesterday -- Scott Westerfeld

Running with Scissors -- Augusten Burroughs

Mallory's Oracle -- Carol O'Connell

Honey, Baby, Sweetheart -- Deb Caletti

How I Live Now -- Meg Rosoff

Molly McGinty has a Really Good Day -- Gary Paulsen

The Glass Castle -- Jeanette Walls

A Changed Man -- Francine Prose

Finding Grace -- Alyssa Brugman

Old School -- Tobias Wolff

Bangkok 8 -- John Burdett

Assassination Vacation -- Sarah Vowell

Heart is a Lonely Hunter -- Carson McCullers

Never Let Me Go -- Kazuo Ishiguro

Misfortune -- Wesley Stace

As Simple As Snow -- Gregory Galloway

Shakespeare Bats Cleanup -- Ron Koertge

Dinky Hocker Shoots Smack! -- M. E. Kerr

Memoirs of a Bookbat -- Kathryn Lasky

The Historian -- Elizabeth Kostova

Hmmm.  That's kind of a ridiculous faves list for six months.  I'm scared to see what it'll look like in another six.  I'm going to have to weed this list out significantly before the end of the year.  But that's where I'm at right now.
