Philip Pullman took a breather from the 'Narnia-gate' media frenzy yesterday to respond to the other big literature-goes-to-Hollywood story of last week: Paradise Lost will be coming to a theatre near you in 2007!

Granted, His Dark Materials is Paradise Lost, but I think that it might be slightly easier to translate Pullman's books to film.

Also--the new edition of PL looks pretty awesome.  (Is it horribly geeky to say that?  Yes.  Probably.)
