Harry Potter as Darth Vadar.
From upi.com:
WILSONA, Calif., Feb. 22 (UPI) -- Officials have removed the latest Harry Potter book from the list of books to buy for Southern California's Vista San Gabriel Elementary School library.
What kind of officials? Library officials? Administration officials? Church officials? Oh, wait. I suspect we're dealing with school board officials...
Although this bit is from 2000, I think this lady might win my personal Most-Melodramatic-Quote-of-the-Year Award (Get ready. It's so awesome!):
In January 2000, Sharon Toyne -- then a Wilsona board member and now board president -- warned against author J.K. Rowling's best-selling books about the boy wizard, the newspaper said.
"The book's wizards and magic all falls in the line of witchcraft," Toyne said at the time. "In our district we are trying to promote character with programs like Character Counts, and I don't see how the book promotes that. I think (the books) could arouse a child's imagination and curiosity of the unknown, of the dark side."
The Dark Side. That sound you're hearing is me bashing my head into a table.
