Autographing books.
Dr. Frank wants to know what you want him to write in your copy of King Dork.
My number-one rule for getting autographed books? When possible, get it personalized. That way, it's less valuable and my future children won't be able to split up my library and hock it on eBay.
My favorite autograph? Phillip Pullman signed my hardback copies of The Golden Compass, The Subtle Knife, and my ARC of The Amber Spyglass. The first two books were gifts, and I noticed that he laughed at the previous inscriptions -- which mocked me about the third book's pub. date being pushed back over and over again.
So, in the third book, he wrote: For Leila, who has been waiting...
