The One Book meme.
I don't usually do these, blah blah blah, but I'm succumbing to peer pressure. Also, I'm not tagging anyone because everyone (and their mom) has already done it.
Okay, here it is:
1. One book that changed your life?
Anastasia Krupnik, Lois Lowry -- Finally, a girl in a book who was ME.
2. One book you have read more than once?
The Secret Garden, Frances Hodgson Burnett -- It never gets old. I love how Mary changes ON HER OWN. No one chews her out and makes her See The Light. She's the best.
Also Jane Eyre, but that probably doesn't count because I always skip the stupid St. John part. I hate him.
3. One book you would want on a desert island?
The Canterbury Tales (in Middle English, of course).
4. One book that made you laugh?
Last Days of Summer, Steve Kluger. Still makes me laugh, and I've read it 47 bazillion times.
5. One book that made you cry?
Erm. See above. Also Ian McEwan's Atonement. I cried so much I thought I was going to die. I'm tearing up just thinking about it. Moving on.
6. One book you wish had been written?
At least one more by Josephine Tey.
7. One book you wish had never been written?
Shadowmancer by G. P. Taylor. Baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarf.
Also Amelia Atwater-Rhodes. Like, in general. That way I'd never have had to hear "Oh, I KNOW her. She's in my class" from that horribly annoying pretentious friend of T's who used to frequent the store.
Oh, and The Little Prince. Sorry, fans of the little guy. Yuck.
8. One book you are currently reading?
The Vault, Peter Lovesey -- Wow. I love him. I know I mentioned that Agatha fans would like him, but The Vault is reminding me more of Reg. Hill. And that can't be bad.
9. One book you have been meaning to read?
Among a billion others, The Book Thief by Markus Zusak.
