The Good, the Bad and the Weird.
Stuff we watched this weekend:
The Good: Brick. Grown-up Lukas Haas! Cameo by Richard Roundtree! Who knew that the 3rd Rock kid got so damn tall? Classic noir story, set in a high school -- fab snappy dialogue, so fast that I want to watch it again because I know that I missed stuff. Super.
The Bad: I finally showed Josh the original Nightmare on Elm Street. He's now of the opinion that it's the Worst Movie Ever. Highlight of the viewing experience: I realized that when Nancy and Johnny Depp are walking to school, he takes her books and carries them because he's a Nice Young Man -- except when he runs to class, he never gives them back! Whatever. It still rules, regardless of how much Josh mocked me for loving it.
The Weird: Motel Hell. "It takes all kinds of critters to make Farmer Vincent fritters." Cannibalism, a human garden and a chainsaw fight. Also fake cows and real bear traps. Rad. Funny. Weird.
