Cold Comfort Farm: Loved the clothes. Loved the setting. LOVED Rufus Sewell -- he was hilarious... and HOT. Actually, I thought the casting was great in general. But, wow. Did people who saw the movie without reading the book enjoy the movie? Because without having read the book, I can't see how they would have. It was a broad sketch of the events of the book, but it skipped the satire. Definitely had mixed feelings on this one.
Hot Fuzz: LOVED IT. The Point Break bit made me laugh so hard I really thought I was going to barf. And how did they manage to give Nick Frost all of the lines for the Cop Movie Buddy Type AND the Cop Movie Love Interest Type and still make it work? Genius, that's how. And the murders were fantastically gruesome. I need to buy the poster. Is it not the most perfect mockery of a cop movie poster that you've ever seen? I heart Simon Pegg.
Star Wars, Episode Two: Attack of the Suck: Hadn't seen this one since it was in theaters. This time, I only made it about fifteen minutes, even though we fast-forwarded through all of of the Anakin scenes. In my mind, Natalie Portman now rivals Mischa Barton for the Child Star with Most Potential Who Sadly Grew into a Big Black Hole of Suck Acting award. Wow, she was bad.
