...for the sparse posting today.

But I have a good -- no, a great -- excuse.  I've finally started Alan Garner's The Owl Service, and WOW.  Love it.

I love that Gwyn is almost immediately aware of the danger.  That he doesn't try to explain it away.  The first bunch of chapters, before he is really aware of what is happening, are super creepy, in a way that fans of The Changeover will appreciate, though the book is geared younger.

Freaking.  Out.

So far, I'd say it's a must read -- A MUST READ -- for those who love The Dark is Rising sequence, for the Welsh mythology alone.  I just ordered a copy of The Mabinogion.  It's time, dammit.
