Stephenie Meyer profiled in Vogue.

I found the article wicked ho-hum -- there very little I hadn't read somewhere else, but this caught my eye:

She won a National Merit Scholarship in high school and studied literature in college, at Brigham Young, where she enjoyed writing papers on Shakespeare but stayed away from creative writing, for fear of potential criticism.

How ironic, right?  To avoid creative writing for that reason and then write a bunch of best-selling blockbusters that get ripped apart all over the internet and even get mocked by the stars of the movie?  Yikes.
