Some booklists.

The five children's laureates choose their favorite children's books... and a couple of writers at the Guardian have responded with their own.  (Yay for the second list -- Diana Wynne Jones and Joan Aiken!)

I'm sure this will prompt many more lists.  I say:  Bring 'em.
