A few links.

  • Dan Humphrey's Top Ten Books of the Year includes Bennett Madison's The Blonde of the Joke.  (It's actually the only YA book on the list, and I rather like the idea of Dan reading it.)  I would love to see this idea -- television characters picking their Best Of lists -- become a trend.  Way more interesting than the NYTimes Best Ofs, at any rate -- and you know that Dwight Schrute's list would be made of awesome.  (via @bennettmadison)
  • According to Angiegirl at Angieville, Holly Black's upcoming book "is about a boy named Cassel and takes place in a private boarding school, features a family of grifters, and is about curse magic. Oh, and a white cat. And is a fairy tale retelling."  Well, then.  I'm so there.
  • While I was one of the, like, three people on the planet who didn't fall in love with Wake and Fade, I think it's excellent that Lisa McMann has scored a four-book deal -- I have a whole lot of YA patrons who'll be totally jazzed to hear that news.
  • GAH!!  And also YECCH!!!  (via Maud Newton)
  • Usually I'm seriously not cool with the idea of writing sequels to classics.  But, you know.  It's Hilary McKay.  She's allowed to do anything.
