7 Beach Reads You Can Grab Off Your T(w)een's Bookshelf: Take Two.

Okay, darlings.

Due to your lukewarm response to the original 7 Beach Reads You Can Grab Off Your T(w)een's Bookshelf, Peter over at Flashlight Worthy has graciously offered the opportunity for us to create another one.

So.  We need to come up with 7 (more) Beach Reads, as well as a little blurb about why each choice is Flashlight Worthy.  Not a summary -- a blurb.

If we end up with way more suggestions than room, I'll set up a poll.

I'll start by suggesting Sara Shepard's Pretty Little Liarsseries.  With a blurb along the lines of:  Headed to the beach?  Why leave television's most guilty pleasure at home when you can bring along the books that inspired it?  Like the show, the books are an irresistible blend of Desperate Housewives and Gossip Girl -- mean girls, romance, dangerous secrets and mystery!  (That might seem like an obvious pick, but considering the number of adults who are watching the show, it seems like way less have read them... but feel free to vote it down!)

For those who'd like their beach fare a bit less... guilty... we also suggest e. lockhart's The Disreputable History of Frankie Landau-Banks.  Full of wordplay, wit and mystery, this National Book Award finalist and Printz Honor novel is compelling, hilarious, and offers a depth one wouldn't necessarily expect in a story about first love, boarding school hijinks and the infiltration of a secret society.
