I don't do the political thing, because, ew.
But it did occur to me that while the reasons behind the Archie/Reggie/Obama/Palin storyarc are super-nice and lovely:
"Even people on different ends of the political spectrum have some common ground. At their core, their values, Both Obama and Palin want the same thing: what's best for America. What better place to find it than Riverdale?"
Reggie's team-up with Sarah Palin may not have quite the same Let's-All-Get-Together-to-Talk-Rationally-And-Work-Together-Despite-Our-Differing-Views vibe for some readers as it would have if the writers had made a different casting choice. Since, you know, Reggie's usual role is as the cheating, lying villain type.
I mean, I'm just saying.
