Is time travel the next big trend in YA?

These folks think so.

I dunno, though. Sure, I've seen lots of time travel stories pop up over the last few years, and people like them well enough, but no one ever seems to ask me for them: in terms of demand, the time travel element always seems to be secondary (if it even comes up, which is rare) to whatever the primary aspect (romance, star-crossed romance, mystery, quest, etc.) that the reader is looking for.

Does that make sense? I just re-read it and I'm not sure if I even understand what I mean.
