YA moving to the forefront...

...literally: Due to increased demand from adult customers, Brookline Booksmith moved its YA section from the back of the store to the front. [ETA: Not exactly—see Shoshana's comment below—but the general idea is still the same.]

While much of this article will be old news to YA fans, there are some choice quotes by authors and publishers, including this bit from M.T. Anderson:

In the early days of his career when he told people he wrote YA, they often assumed he was writing about the prom. Now, Anderson jokes, "They assume that you’re the one actually making money."
