Phew.
After proclaiming that Jane Austen Deserves a Year Off in my most recent Kirkus column, I was concerned that this excerpt of P.D. James' new Austen murder mystery would prove me wrong.
Three pages in, and it's still rehashing the events of Pride and Prejudice.
So here I am, feeling all smug.
(Also, what up, HuffPo? This is not remotely the first time someone's written an Austen-themed murder mystery.)
