So that was fun.
Anyway, the 2012 Printz winner is...
Where Things Come Back, by John Corey Whaley.
Amazon | Indiebound
And, for the first time ever (I think!), the Printz winner ALSO won the Morris Award for debut novel! Cool, right? I already ILLed it.
The Printz finalists (I've only read the one, sadly) are:
Jasper Jones, by Craig Silvey:
With echoes of To Kill a Mockingbird and Stand by Me, Jasper Jones is a must-read for anyone looking for a beautifully written piece of historical fiction, for a mystery that spins out slowly, or for a coming-of-age story that recognizes that becoming an adult is something that happens over the course of a long period of time, not in a single moment.
Why We Broke Up, by Daniel Handler and Maira Kalman

The Returning, by Christine Hinwood
Amazon | Indiebound
The Scorpio Races, by Maggie Stiefvater
