Based on conversations she has had, Carey said, many people in the community and many alumni are concerned about the school board's decision.

"If a small minority think it's inappropriate, then they should supervise their children and make it their own issue," she said.

There's a petition circling, and the Lebanon Daily News donated copies of the book to all six public libraries in the area.
