The 2012 Amelia Elizabeth Walden Book Award Finalists have been announced.
In case you're unfamiliar with it (it's only been around since 2008), it annually honors a YA title for "demonstrating a positive approach to life, widespread teen appeal, and literary merit."
I've read four out of the five finalists:
The Berlin Boxing Club, by Robert Sharenow
Between Shades of Gray, by Ruta Sepetys
Blood Red Road, by Moira Young (YES!!!!)
Shine, by Lauren Myracle
Under the Mesquite, by Guadalupe Garcia McCall
And now I'm off to ILL Under the Mesquite, which, HELLO!, I really should have read by now.
