Oh, today. All things considered, you had your perks.

Best thing about waking up this morning to a flat tire, finding out that the MASSIVE NAIL that caused the flat went in at exactly the right place to disallow a patch, requiring an all-new, MASSIVELY EXPENSIVE tire, suckitude exacerbated by the fact that my car is all-wheel drive, so getting a NEW tire is tantamount to getting FOUR new tires?

Sitting for an hour and a half at the car dealership waiting for the tire thing to be dealt with (along with an oil change) allowed me to finally start reading Me and Earl and the Dying Girl, which is hilarious and profane and decidedly un-maudlin (so far), and made me laugh so much that the other lady at my picnic table* asked for the title and wrote it down.

Okay, if I'm going to be honest, the book was the second best thing. The dealership happened to have the exact tire I needed at exactly the right wear level, so I drove out of there elated rather than totally, in-the-abyss level destitute and depressed.

*I love you, Patriot Subaru. An outdoor waiting area complete with friendly dogs? Non-pushy employees who are genuinely helpful, seem to enjoy their jobs, and each other? A VEGETABLE PLATTER?? (<--That was on a different visit.)

**For reals, Patriot Subaru. As I told the guy at the counter, MY HERO(ES).
