Criminal, Episode 71: A Bump in the Night
As it's the first really nice day here in ages, it has been supremely quiet at the library. So I've been listening to podcasts and getting some much-needed shelving done.
THIS EPISODE OF CRIMINAL FREAKED. ME. OUT.
More than any of the horror podcasts I've been listening to lately, even—the fact that it's nonfiction vs. fiction is certainly part of the reason why—this particular episode was so unsettling that it made me queasy.
It's about a woman who was living alone in an apartment when she was in her twenties... and she slowly began to realize that there was someone else living there with her.
SERIOUSLY, JUST TYPING THAT MAKES ME WANT TO BARF ALL OVER AGAIN.
No sexual assault or any other violence, no blood, no nothing—and as host was interviewing the woman it happened to years and years after the fact, there's not even a question about whether or not she made it through unscathed.
And yet: AIEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE.
