Okay, so I know that the whole Things I Didn’t Have On My 2020 Bingo Card bit is probably stale at this point—it has, as I’m sure you’ve experienced, been quite a year—but good grief:

We watched it last night—I didn’t even warn Josh about what I was about to do, I just got home from work, loaded it up, hit play, and before he could even finish asking, “What on earth is happening on our TV right now???” we were both hooked.

We watched the whole thing with our jaws slightly unhinged, just… in AWE?

Mario Lopez—along with his dimples, amazing fake beard, and bulbous arms—plays our hero, and it’ll be hard to ever see the Colonel Sanders logo the same way again.

(Which, like, POINTS TO THE ADVERTISING AGENCY THAT CAME UP WITH THIS, YOU ARE CLEARLY (possibly evil) GENIUSES??)

For a movie that is only fifteen-ish minutes long, it goes places:

THERE IS A BAD GUY!

THERE IS PLOTTING!

THERE IS INSTALOVE!

THERE IS MORE PLOTTING!

THERE IS A SECRET RECIPE ON A NOTECARD THAT BEARS THE TITLE ‘SECRET RECIPE’!

THERE IS MORE THAT I DON’T WANT TO GIVE AWAY BECAUSE WHAT WHAT WHAT!

*waves arms around*

I JUST!

It’s a Lifetime movie, but they’ve uploaded the thing in its entirety to YouTube; again, it’s only a little over 15 minutes long, and absolutely worth it. At the VERY EXTREME least, I can’t imagine walking away from it and wanting those 15 minutes back? But, for real, we both kind of loved it.

I’m not saying that I want a million copycat branded shorts, or even necessarily another one of these… but there is certainly room for a sequel???

Anyway, as always, thank goodness for Romancelandia Twitter, and in this case, particularly for Suleikha Snyder—I never in a million years would have run across this otherwise, and I never in a million, zillion years would have put it on if I hadn’t seen her saying that it was weirdly GREAT?
