Listening: The Allusionist #115
I shall keep this very short, because if you like podcasts about language, you probably already know about The Allusionist.
I always like it when I tune in—which is more of an occasional thing because I subscribe to so many podcasts and have such a ridiculous backlog of things I want to listen to that my phone is always yelling at me about its memory being CRITICALLY LOW, sigh—and whenever I listen to an episode, I tell myself that I should listen more regularly.
And this episode—about the history (assumed and actual) behind the KEEP CALM AND CARRY ON posters; as well as the psychological effects of saying KEEP CALM to non-calm people or what happens when you say it to already-calm people—might finally be the one that prompts me to set it as an auto-download?
See? Told you I’d keep it short.
