*Speaking of, this happened at work yesterday:

My mother-in-law enters and browses the new fiction.

Then she comes up to the front desk.

ME:  Well, hello, my Darling Mother-in-Law Dear**.

DM-i-LD:  I have a bone to pick with you.

ME:  (Quickly thinking back for recent transgressions and coming back empty -- I mean, the Klondike Bar Incident was YEARS AGO!)  Oookay...

DM-i-LD:  I'd like to know how long you and my husband have been conspiring to Get Rid Of Me!

With that, she hands me a political mailing addressed to me and my father-in-law.  Like, together.  Apparently as a couple.

And then, after our hysterical laughter finally died down, she wandered off.
