I love it when my state makes me proud. (Or, what's up with you, Texas?)
From the Guardian:
Texas voters Tuesday overwhelmingly approved a constitutional ban on same-sex marriage, making their state the 19th to take that step. In Maine, however, voters rejected a conservative-backed proposal to repeal the state's new gay-rights law.
The Texas ban doesn't bode well for Kinky Friedman, who has publically come out in support of gay marriage. (Well, what he actually said was "So, I mean, I think gays have every right to be just as miserable as the rest of us. So I support gay marriage.")
But there's a new poll out with Kinky getting 21%--which is apparently really decent at this point in the campaign. Rock on. Kinky in 2006!
