Handmaid's Tale in trouble in (go figure) Texas.

Some parents have complained about the sex in Atwood's book -- which, incidentally, has been used in the 11th-grade curriculum for 10 years.  So, the superintendent did what any fabulously thorough school official in that situation does:

"The superintendent read several of the passages and decided because of graphic content the book should be pulled from our curriculum," Hoffmann said.

Hooray for you, Dr. Edward Lyman!  Excellent use of a situation to say "Hey, kids!  If you aren't sure about something, be sure to base your decision on as little information as possible!"  YEE-HAW!
