House of Night book challenged in Alaska.
From the News-Miner:
The district launched the review after a resident complained about “Betrayed,” part two of the “House of Night” series by P.C. and Kristin Cast. The book involves teenage vampires and resembles the “Twilight” saga, said Assistant Superintendent of Secondary Schools Wayne Gerke.
Well, it resembles the Twilight saga in that there are vampires, an extremely annoying heroine, and that the writing is sub-par. Other than that, not so much.
Anyway, the article doesn't specify what the challenger's issue is, but it could be sex, profanity, religion... you name it. Not required reading, just available in the school library, one parent trying to parent other people's children, etc., etc., etc.

Huh. Hilariously, the only one I didn't review is the one that's been challenged. (Not counting the ones that've come after I finally called it quits, that is...)
